Der Frühling im der Eifel
Schnee, schnee, viele viele schnee..... Snow, Snow, lots & lots of Snow......
Well the hope for a nice pre spring has been dashed with 3 days of snow. We had 6 inches drop today with more expected. But of course this did not stop me from going to see USA vs Poland in Kaiserslautern (A town in Western Germany with about 50,000 Americans living there.) The USA Soccer Federation rented the stadium and "hosted" the Polish to make it the first US Hosted Soccer Match overseas. About 15,000 fans came out (See Article)
I think all had a good time... Many cheers of U...S...A... and the Polish fans did not disappoint with their cheers of "Polski... Polski...) I think on the whole, that most of the Polish fans could recite their players favorite color, let alone how many goals they had this year, I think that the majority of the fellow Americans there could name maybe one player.... Not to be meant as a put-down, It actually is great to have 8-10,000 people who normally do not watch soccer (Fussball) come out and enjoy themselves. I did not bring my camera, but some friends did and will post pics when they do.
Take Care,
Robert
